Lakes, Trails and Tidy Small Dogs in Elk Grove

Elk Grove is a city of parks and trails. The Cosumnes district runs dog parks at Laguna Community Park, McConnell, Morse Community Park and Oasis Park, several with separate small dog areas, and Elk Grove Regional Park has an off-leash area too. Dogs on leash can walk the paved Laguna Creek Trail. Laguna West is built around a 73-acre private lake, with tree-lined walking paths, and Old Town has historic streets. Summer highs average in the high 80s and low 90s, so walks mean heat, paw wear and sometimes grass debris.

A van visit saves a drive across town. I groom one small dog at a time, under 35 pounds, with warm water and a drain tank so your house stays clean. I trim for summer, brush out the tangles that come from park play and tidy paws after trail walks. If you live in a neighborhood with tight streets or an HOA, the van parks right outside. Text to check that I can reach you.

Common Questions

Which Elk Grove parks have areas for small dogs?

Morse Community Park and Oasis Park have separate small and large dog areas, according to Cosumnes CSD. Laguna Community Park and McConnell also have fenced dog parks. Check each park's current rules before you go.

How should I protect my small dog's paws on Elk Grove trails in summer?

Walk early or late, since paved paths such as the Laguna Creek Trail heat up. Check pads for wear, trim the hair between them, and bring water. Dogs must be leashed on that trail.

Do you come to Elk Grove, CA?

My van is based in Oakley and I travel to Elk Grove by appointment. Text me your address and your dog's size and breed, and I will confirm whether I can fit you into my route.

What size dogs do you groom?

I groom small dogs, generally under 35 pounds. My van and my one-on-one setup are built around keeping small dogs calm and comfortable.

How does mobile grooming work?

I bring a self-contained grooming van to your home with my own warm water and a drain tank. Your dog is groomed right outside your door, so there is no mess and no water used inside your house.

How do I book an appointment?

Text or call (925) 666-4861 and I will get back to you to set a time. I take appointments from 8:00am to 1:30pm and I am closed Thursdays and Sundays.
